Photographs 1980 – 2017
This book is the result of forty years of work, even though most of the images come from the last twenty. I have felt the need to use some of my old images, scanned from slide. Knowing now what I want to do as a photographer, I realise that what I searched for creatively all those years was right in front of my nose: the photographs I have chosen for the book from that era show that I had been doing that kind of work all along!
I trust and hope that you will enjoy looking through these images. It is one of the great tragedies of our time that some of them are sights you will no longer see in the wild. I have chosen to print them in black and white, the traditional photographic medium. This book gives an insight into the world of an African guide and photographer who has loved each and every moment of his working life.
